How Energy is stored in its source and then released.
Grid Tie Solar Power System
PV devices convert sunlight into direct current electricity. The load (house hold appliances) then use that energy.
The solar cell is the basic part of a pv system. It makes solar energy into electricity. There is process involved too, this known as the photovoltaic effect. One solar cell does not generate much power, about 1 or 2 watts. If you put a lot of solar cells together you get a module which produces between 10 and 300 watts. Then you can put these modules together and make an array! An array consists of any number of modules. The BOS components enable the solar electricity to be properly distributed among loads (any object that uses electricity). Some examples of BOS components are:
There are three types of PV systems: Grid-Tied PV system, Grid-Tied PV system with battery back-up, Stand Alone PV system. Solar energy can be used for heat and electricity.
There was also a new process recently discovered that chemically stores solar energy. What makes this possible is the carbon nano-tube molecule which can store solar energy indefinitely. With it you can put a lot more energy into a battery, and the energy inside the battery would last longer.

- Battery Bank: A group of batteries wired together that store the energy produced by the PV array for later use.
- Charge controller: Monitors the battery bank to prevent it from being overcharged.
- Array DC disconnect: Stops the flow of electricity from the PV array. Essential for system maintaining and troubleshooting.
